Inter Milan are ready to splash some cash this summer as reports are currently claiming that they are getting very close to signing defender Denzel Dumfries from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven in the coming days. The Netherlands international defender, who is a major transfer target of Tottenham Hotspur, is believed to be keen on a switch to Italy this summer where he could end up signing for Inter Milan. The player was with the Netherlands squad and had a very decent campaign at the Euros tournament before his country’s campaign ended in a disappointing fashion.

Inter are willing to take the central defender on loan from PSV but the Dutch club would rather prefer to let him go on a permanent deal this summer. Tottenham are also interested in the 25-year-old and will likely propose a permanent purchase if they strengthen their interest in the Dutchman. Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santos is keen to start pulling off his signings at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium and is already looking out for players that he can get over the line in the summer.

Dumfries was once linked to AS Milan but that is no longer the case and although Inter are the frontrunner in the race to sign him, they would have to inject some new changes in their proposal to PSV. Liverpool are currently monitoring the situation and are ready to pounce on the deal if neither Inter nor Spurs do well enough to get the deal done.

The defender fancies the Premier League and has reportedly told friends and family that it is his dream and desire to play in England in the near future. He could well realize his dream this summer if he finally deals a move to the Premier League before the transfer window closes next month.
