Australia Women Third In Rugby Sevens

There was much effort put in by the women’s team of Australia as they played against US in Rugby Sevens World Cup; the team managed to win bronze at the end. Ellia Greens was found diving for trying a score and she was one of the several members who helped Australia win the bronze medal at the end.

Wasp’s Johnson Faces Drug Charges

Ashley Johnson of the Wasps team has come into the news for being banned. He has been banned under anti doping violation and this is for a period of six months. This was as per a decision issued by an anti doping panel set up as an independent national body. Johnson was found positive with the substance called “hydrochlorothiazide” which was found in a test run at the Premiership Club. This was found from the urine sample that the South African had to submit and was run tests by Adverse Analytical Finding.

The player, however admitted that he had consumed a dietary supplement of his wife’s, a fat burner known as The Secret obtained from South Africa. The product was tested by the RFU as well as the player for the forbidden substance. Under 18 Ireland Sevens Champion

The under 18 women’s squad of Ireland were able to overcome the Wales team as well as Scotland and England during the pool stages of the Sevens champion round on Saturday. This team was able to defeat the Scots at a score of 26-5 while they defeated the English in 28-19; this was at the knockout clashes on Sunday.

The Ireland Sevens team was able to perform, whether they were playing at San Francisco or at Birmingham. The team was able to represent the country and with distinction. This was concluded over the weekend; it was as a result of their undefeated run that the Under 18 women’s team was crowned series champion in Home Nations series.
